Required Qualifications:

1)  Experience with and respect for "at-risk" teens: teen parents, students with truancy issues, drug addiction, and those who've been in  trouble with the law;

2)  Excellent public relations, interpersonal and problem-solving skills;

3)  Effective skills in staff motivation, supervision, instructional improvement, curriculum development and on-site management;

4)  Commitment to being an instructional leader;

5)  Demonstrated intercultural competence;

6)  Ability to lead change, have courageous conversations, and resolve conflicts;

7)  Ability to systematically analyze problems, determine  creative solutions, and make appropriate and effective decisions;

8)  Ability to establish and maintain effective organizational, public, and community relationships.

Desired Qualifications:

1)  Qualifies for or holds valid Minnesota Secondary or K-12 Principal licensure;

2)  Experience working in and leading an alternative learning environment;

3)  Experience coordinating targeted services programs;

4)  Familiarity with the "professional learning community" model for engaging staff and improving students' performance;

5)  Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with the high school staff, community partners, and coordinate out-reach programs to ensure success for students.
